Pomaire – Parte 2

Para continuar, después del almuerzo, Seve y yo exploramos Pomaire. Básicamente significa dos calles con restaurantes y tiendas vendiendo mucha alfarería, ropa, regalos, joyas, etc. Siente un poco turístico pero a la vez, todo es muy barato y sabes que lo que venden es autentico. Yo mostré mucho autocontrol con los aros porque compré solo un par. Es muy difícil no comprar como 30 pares de aros cuando salen a 1 luca (1000 pesos o 2 dólares). Yo decidí combinar dos cosas asociadas con Pomaire en los aros que compré: la alfarería y los aros.

Caminando por estas calles, veía muchos colores vivos. Los ponchos, pantalones, suéteres, puedes encontrar todos hecho con colores llamativos. Me encantan. De nuevo, compre solo una prenda de ropa, un chaleco de lana de alpaca. ¡Muy cómoda! Un poco llamativo, sí, pero no me importa.

Es posible que yo hubiera dicho antes que me gustan los postres. Es posible. Había una chica vendiendo muchos tipos de galletas así que yo me sentía obligada comprar unos, por mi mama por supuesto. (Yo lo hice para ti, mama.) Y, fueron dos paquetes por una luca! Probé los alfajores (galletas que no son muy dulces con manjar) y unas que parecen como rosquillas con manjar en el medio. Manjar es hecho con leche condensada hervida y azúcar y sabe un poco como caramelo. ¡Delicioso!

To continue, after lunch, Seve and I explored Pomaire. Basically that means two streets with restaurants and stores selling a lot of pottery, clothes, gifts, jewelry, etc. It feels a bit touristy but at the same time, everything is very cheap and you know that what they are selling is authentic. I showed a lot of self-control with the earrings because I only bought one pair. It’s really difficult to not buy like 30 pairs when they cost 1 luca or $2. I decided to combine two things associated with Pomaire in the earrings I bought: pottery and earrings.

Walking through these streets, I saw so many bright colors. Ponchos, pants, sweaters, you can find all of these made with rather ostentatious colors. I love it. Again, I only bought one article of clothing, a sweater/poncho mix made of alpaca wool. So comfortable! A bit loud, yes, but it doesn’t matter.

It’s possible that I have said before that I like sweets. It’s possible. There was a girl selling a bunch of different cookies so I felt obligated to buy some, for my mom of course. (I did it for you, mom.) And, they were two packets for mil pesos or $2. I tried the alfajores (not too sweet cookies with manjar in the middle) y some that are donut-like with manjar in the middle. Manjar is made from boiled condensed milk and sugar and it tastes a bit like caramel. Delish!
